Welcome

As children approach the age for starting school, or as families move into the area, we are often asked for information about the school.  The aim of this site is to help build a picture of what takes place in our school, before starting school and while your children are at school.

Whilst the basic ethos and philosophy of the school remain the same, the complexion of the school changes each year as different children bring their own contributions to school life.

Children live what they learn

If a child lives with tolerance
A child learns to be patient

If a child lives with encouragement
A child learns confidence.

If a child lives with fairness
A child learns with justice.

If a child lives with security
A child learns to have faith.

If a child lives with approval
A child learns to like himself.

If a child lives with acceptance and friendship
A child learns to find love in the world.

We value the child at the heart of our School Community.

We aim to provide in our school a secure environment which is stimulating, challenging and attractive and where all children can develop a positive attitude towards learning, each other and our environment.

We believe children must be encouraged to meet new challenges and to know that we can all learn from our mistakes.

We consider it important to provide first hand experiences and activities within the framework of the National Curriculum, ensuring a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum which will help each child gain knowledge, develop concepts and acquire a wide range of skills.

We have high expectations of behaviour and want our children to value honesty, responsibility and independence.

Our School is part of the wider Community in Broughton.  We share and contribute to many aspects of the Community and we welcome parents and friends into our school.

"At the heart of the educational process lies the child..."
